Geology and Geohazards of Seattle Field Trip

Description: Seattle is subject to abundant geologic hazards, including volcanic mudflows, ashfall, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides and flooding. We will visit sites showing active deformation, glacial deposits, landslides, and will discuss evidence for the Seattle fault, Native American stories about earthquakes, early warning systems for tsunamis, and policies regarding geologic hazards.
