Two Elizabeth City State University Aviation Science students are slightly over their Body Mass Index. As a part of a Health Concepts course, students set goals and measurable objectives related to physical and spiritual health. In order to reduce their Body Mass Index, the students challenged themselves by decreasing their body fat. The students then developed a Physical and Spiritual Health Improvement Plan, which consisted of three main objectives: 1. Eating regularly six times per day, including snacks. 2. Exercising at least three days a week to maintain physical fitness 3. Understanding theoretical religious beliefs. Physically, the student team designed an exercise and dietary implementation plan that included exercising at least three times a week, for an hour per day, and maintaining a healthy diet. Spiritually, the student team participated in other religions beyond their own beliefs, by going to different churches and spending time with other culturally influenced individuals at least once a week. Students participated in each segment of the improvement plan for a 30 day period. Data was collected on a daily basis. Results exhibited that exercise participation ranged from three times per week to four times per week for each student. Results also exhibited that spiritual exercises made the student team more understanding about other religions, which improved spiritual health.  The outcome for the two students who designed and developed the Physical and Spiritual Health Improvement Plan over a 30 day period was very successful. Both students completed each goal and measurable objective.
