Description: NSF reviews proposals according to two merit review criteria: Intellectual Merit and Broader Impacts. Broader Impacts (BI), can serve to broaden participation of underrepresented groups in science. This session will clarify the BI criterion meaning, ways to make the most of opportunities, and how institutions can optimize activities.
