Abstract
In this paper, an approach is taken in creating an algorithm that indicates the time at which the sun will set that is different from a current algorithm that is used today in odrder to compare and contrast accuracies. The algorithm is based on three variables: time, longitude, and latitude. Earth and its relationship with sunlight are described in terms of vectors, and planes in spherical and Cartesian coordinates.
