Bahía Beach Resort and Golf Club, a sustainable private property, has created an environmental education campaign through its comprehensive environmental and outreach program, Soul of Bahía. The objective is to create awareness and a real commitment to the environment among the local student population. The campaign is divided in three phases: a nature drawing contest, environmental workshops lead by marine biologists, and a beach cleanup day. These annual campaigns allow students and community to play an active role in the natural resources conservation efforts.  The campaign has received a good response from the local community.  About 5,000 students have been participating in these campaigns. More schools from other municipalities are requesting the workshops and a reduction of the amount of waste found on the beach has been registered, possibly due to our environmental education efforts in the area.
