Description: Glycoscience, including glycobiology and glycomics, is a relatively new interdisciplinary field. Some glycoscience disciplines include chemistry, evolution, microbiology, cellular and molecular biology, neuroscience, oncology, pharmacology, engineering and others. This session provides a brief introduction to glycobiology with examples from oncology, pharmacology, dentistry and biomedical engineering in industry and academic research.
