Description: Uranium-naturally occurring element-mined from the earth creates nuclear energy fuel. Uranium deposits occur in Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, Virginia, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico including Spanish Land Grants and tribal lands. Focus is on research to understand characteristics of uranium deposits and environmental impacts of uranium mining and milling.
