Description: This session is about years of scientific research in Antarctica. The continent includes about one-tenth of the Earth’s land surface, 90% of Earth’s ice and about 70% of its fresh water.  The USGS and international partners share expertise on penguins, ice sheets, permafrost, Landsat imaging, gravity measurements, and POLENET program.
