Exciting Minds: Non-Model Organisms and Neuroscience

Friday, October 30, 2015: 3:15 PM-4:45 PM
National Harbor 3 (Gaylord National Resort And Convention Center)
Chair:
Ulises M. Ricoy, PhD, Chairperson, Northern New Mexico College

Description: Investigating the events at the neuronal cell membrane is critical to understanding brain function and can explain properties of behavior. Studying neuron communication in non-model organisms permits high public and educational interest and allows probing the genetic and environmental factors that influence how the brain adapts to outside stimuli.
